_MEGAN LEONARD & PETER EDLUND

Together, Megan Leonard and Peter Edlund are Visual Pollution, a Seattle-based dynamic duo of filmmaking. Their works to date include the short films Mixtape Marauders, The Ref, and The New West, as well as acclaimed music video work from some of the area's best independent musicians. Leonard and Edlunds’ work is expertly photographed and performed, and imbued with a dark sense of humor about the frustrations and inanities of life. In writing about The Ref for RogerEbert.com, Collin Sauter observed that, “[It] feels like it comes from a real place, made by people who have been there.”

Mixtape Marauders screened at multiple festivals (Aspen Shortsfest, Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortsFest, and the Raindance Film Festival) as well as receiving plaudits and nominations from Vimeo and the Webby Awards.

Leonard knows from filmmaking–she’s been the programmer for the Seattle International Film Festival’s popular WTF (“Wild, Terrifying, Fantastic!”) program for years. Leonard and Edlund met in the inaugural film program at Seattle University and a fruitful and longstanding producer/director collaboration was born.

In addition to their idiosyncratic short narrative films, they have a number of commercial credits to their names as well, including spots for Microsoft and Wave Broadband.
